Crownquill privacy policy

1. Who we are

This policy covers the Crownquill game for Android (package com.cybs.crownquill), available on Google Play. It is made by Cybs Innovations, Main Road, Near KBC Building, Champa, Chhattisgarh 495671, India.

There is no sign-up and no account. We do not run our own servers for this game. Data leaves your phone only through the outside services listed in section 4.

2. Phone permissions

• Notifications: only if you turn on the daily reminder, to tell you the new puzzle is ready. The reminder is made on your phone.
• Start up: so a daily reminder you turned on still comes after your phone restarts.
• Advertising ID: used by Google AdMob, Meta Audience Network and Google Analytics for Firebase, described below.

3. What stays on your phone

• Your current and finished puzzles, solve times and hints used.
• Your streak and statistics.
• Your settings, such as theme, sounds and reminders.

4. Outside services

• Google AdMob: shows a small banner on the home screen. In Practice, a full screen ad can show after every third solved puzzle, at most once every 2 minutes. You can choose to watch a video ad for an extra hint after the free daily hint, or to open an older archive puzzle. There are never ads on the game screen, and never a full screen ad before or after the daily puzzle. AdMob may use your phone's advertising ID, your IP address (which gives a rough location), ad views and taps, and basic device and crash data to show ads, count them and stop fraud. Where the law asks for it, for example in the EEA, the UK and some US states, Crownquill asks for your choice with Google's consent form before ads are requested. You can change it from Settings, then Privacy settings. Google AdMob privacy.
• Meta Audience Network: an ad network that can offer ads through AdMob. It receives the same kind of data as AdMob, only to show and count ads. In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, it gets data for personalised ads only if you agree in the consent form. Meta Audience Network privacy.
• Google Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics: count how the game is used: screens opened, puzzles started and solved (mode, size, difficulty, solve time and hints used), hints and video ads, results shared and the tutorial finished. Crashlytics sends a report if the app crashes, with the device model and Android version. Firebase uses an app instance ID, app version, language and your country from your IP address. We do not sell personal data.

Puzzles are built into the app, so it plays without internet.

When you tap Share result, your time goes only to the app you pick, without the answer. That app's own privacy policy then applies.

If Android backup is on for your phone, Android may include your progress and settings in your phone's backup to your Google account.

Crownquill has no in-app purchases and no sign-in.

5. Children

Crownquill is not made for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you think a child has given us data, email us and we will delete it.

6. Deleting your data

• Turn off the daily reminder in Settings at any time.
• Uninstall Crownquill, or clear its storage in Android settings, to remove your puzzles, streak and settings.
• To reset or delete your advertising ID, open your phone's Settings, then Google, then Ads.

7. Your rights

Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, and laws like it where you live, you can ask what data we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, and complain to us or to your data protection authority. Email info@cybsinnovations.com.

8. Changes to this policy
