Gatherpix privacy policy

1. Who we are

This policy covers the Gatherpix app for Android (package com.cybs.gatherpix), available on Google Play. It is made by Cybs Innovations, Main Road, Near KBC Building, Champa, Chhattisgarh 495671, India.

You sign in with your Google account. Gatherpix uses your name, email address and Google account ID to sign you in, and shows your name to the other members of albums you join. Album details are kept in Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore), which Google runs for us: album names, members, invite codes, and for each photo its file name, size, date taken, image size, who added it and, if allowed, its face fingerprints. Photos themselves are kept in the Google Drive of the person who added them.

2. Phone permissions

• Notifications: to show upload progress while photos upload in the background.

3. What stays on your phone

• Your selfie and its face fingerprint for Photos of me. They are never uploaded.
• Photos you save with Save all, in Pictures, Gatherpix, then the album name.
• Your face matching choice and your settings.

4. Outside services

• Google Drive: keeps the photos you add, in a Gatherpix folder in your own Drive, with a small preview of each. The app asks only for Google's limited drive.file access, so it can see and change only the files it made, not anything else in your Drive. So album members can see them, these files are shared as anyone with the link can view. The links are long and random, and only album members get them from the app, but anyone given a link directly can open that photo. Google Drive privacy.
• Google Firebase sign-in and Cloud Firestore: signs you in and keeps the album details described above. Only members of an album can read its details. Google Firebase sign-in and Cloud Firestore privacy.
• Google ML Kit: finds faces in photos on your phone. Your photos are not sent to Google for this. Google ML Kit privacy.
• Google AdMob: shows banners on the album screens and, now and then, a full screen ad when you leave an album. There is no full screen ad in your first 2 minutes, then at most one every 3 minutes, and only on every third time you leave an album. There are no ads while photos upload or while you look at a photo. AdMob may use your phone's advertising ID, your IP address (which gives a rough location), ad views and taps, and basic device and crash data to show ads, count them and stop fraud. Where the law asks for it, for example in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, Gatherpix asks for your consent with Google's consent form first. • Meta Audience Network: an ad network that can offer ads through AdMob. It receives the same kind of data as AdMob, only to show and count ads. Meta Audience Network privacy.
• Google Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics: count which features are used, such as album created, photos uploaded, invite shared or photos saved, with counts but no names, photos or album titles. Crashlytics sends a report if the app crashes, with the device model, Android version and app version. Both are linked to your Gatherpix account ID. We do not sell personal data.

Face matching on the photos you add only runs if you allow it, and you can turn it off at any time under Privacy. For each face it finds, your phone makes a face fingerprint, a list of numbers and not a picture. The fingerprints are kept with the album so members can find themselves. Only members of that album can see them.

Anyone in an album can tap Hide me from face matching in Photos of me. This removes the fingerprints that match them from that album and keeps one fingerprint marked do not match, so future uploads skip their face. They can undo this.

If you appear in someone's photos but do not use Gatherpix, email us and we will remove your face data.

We never use face data for ads, and we do not sell it or share it outside the album.

Gatherpix has no in-app purchases.

5. Children

Gatherpix is not made for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you think a child has given us data, email us and we will delete it.

6. Deleting your data

• Delete a photo you added to remove it from the album and from your Google Drive.
• Delete your files from the Gatherpix folder in Google Drive at any time. They then disappear from the album.
• Leave an album to be removed from it. Photos you added stay unless you or the album owner deletes them.
• When an album owner deletes an album, its details are deleted. Photo files stay in each person's own Drive.
• Delete your selfie fingerprint under Privacy, then Delete my selfie fingerprint.
• To delete your account data, email us.
• To reset or delete your advertising ID, open your phone's Settings, then Google, then Ads.

7. Your rights

Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, and laws like it where you live, you can ask what data we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, and complain to us or to your data protection authority. Email info@cybsinnovations.com.

8. Changes to this policy

If the app starts handling data differently, we update this page and the date at the top. The privacy policy for our website is separate: website privacy policy.
