ScanEasy PDF privacy policy

1. Who we are

This policy covers the ScanEasy PDF app for Android (package com.cybs.scaneasy), available on Google Play. It is made by Cybs Innovations, Main Road, Near KBC Building, Champa, Chhattisgarh 495671, India.

There is no sign-up and no account. We do not run our own servers for this app. Data leaves your phone only through the outside services listed in section 4.

2. Phone permissions

• Advertising ID: used by Google AdMob, Meta Audience Network and Google Analytics for Firebase, described below.

3. What stays on your phone

• Your documents: scans, PDFs and images you make with the app, in its private storage.
• A list of your documents, for Recent documents on the home screen.
• Your settings: the default scan format and the default file name.
• Copies you save with Save a copy, in the folder you choose.
• The files you open are picked with Android's file picker and photo picker, so the app sees only the files you choose.

4. Outside services

• Google ML Kit: the document scanner and the text reader. Google Play services downloads the scanner once. It then runs on your phone with its own camera screen. Text reading also runs on your phone. Your documents and photos are not sent to Google or to us. Google ML Kit privacy.
• Google AdMob: shows a banner on the home screen and a full screen ad after every second task you finish. There is never a full screen ad before your first finished task, more than once every 2 minutes, while a file is being made, or on the scanner. AdMob may use your phone's advertising ID, your IP address (which gives a rough location), ad views and taps, and basic device and crash data to show ads, count them and stop fraud. Where the law asks for it, for example in the EEA and the UK, ScanEasy PDF asks for your consent with Google's consent form before ads are shown. You can change your answer from Ad privacy choices in Settings. AdMob does not receive your documents, photos or text. Google AdMob privacy.
• Meta Audience Network: an ad network that can offer ads through AdMob. It receives the same kind of data as AdMob, only to show and count ads. Meta Audience Network privacy.
• Google Analytics for Firebase: counts which screens are opened, which tools are used, and whether a task finished or failed, with the kind of error, such as a password-protected file. It uses an app instance ID, device model, Android version, app version, language and your rough location from your IP address. It never receives file names, documents, photos or the text the app reads. In the EEA and the UK, your answer in Google's consent form applies to analytics too. We do not sell personal data.

When you tap Share, the file goes only to the app you pick, such as WhatsApp or Gmail. That app's own privacy policy then applies.

ScanEasy PDF has no camera or storage permission. Google's scanner shows its own camera screen, and you choose files with Android's file picker.

ScanEasy PDF is left out of Android backup, so your documents are never copied to your Google account.

The app has no in-app purchases and no sign-in.

5. Children

ScanEasy PDF is not made for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you think a child has given us data, email us and we will delete it.

6. Deleting your data

• Open a document and tap Delete to remove it.
• Delete copies you saved from the folder where you saved them.
• Uninstall ScanEasy PDF, or clear its storage in Android settings, to remove all its documents and settings.
• To reset or delete your advertising ID, open your phone's Settings, then Google, then Ads.

7. Your rights

Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, and laws like it where you live, you can ask what data we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, and complain to us or to your data protection authority. Email info@cybsinnovations.com.

8. Changes to this policy

If the app starts handling data differently, we update this page and the date at the top. The privacy policy for our website is separate: website privacy policy.
