What Daily Puzzle Duel does

Everyone gets the same 5-letter word each day, with 6 guesses to find it. When you solve it, send a friend a link. They play the same word without seeing your score, and then you both see who won.

Fewer moves wins, and the faster time breaks a tie. The game keeps a board of your rivals, your streaks and your badges. There is no account and no server: duels travel in the links you share.

What you get

  • Duel by link

    Share a link after you solve. Your friend plays the same word, then you both see the result, a replay of the other board and a reply link.

  • Rivals board

    A leaderboard of just your friends, with your record, win runs and past duels against each one.

  • Streaks and freezes

    Earn a streak freeze every 7 days in a row, up to 2. A freeze is used for you if you miss a day.

  • Four languages

    Play in English, German, French or Spanish, each with its own keyboard. A duel opens in the language it was sent in.

  • Hints and hard mode

    Use up to 2 hints a puzzle, each counting as one extra move. Hard mode makes you reuse every clue you found.

  • 12 badges

    Earn badges for streaks, speed, hard mode, duels and languages.

How to play

  1. Enter the name your friends will see.
  2. Guess the 5-letter word in 6 tries. Green is the right letter in the right spot, yellow is in the word, grey is not in the word.
  3. Tap Challenge a friend and send the link in any chat app.
  4. Your friend solves the same word. Fewer moves wins, and the time breaks a tie.

  • No sign-up, no account, and no servers of our own collecting your data.
